I’ve always cropped to 444×333 for uniformity issues. Last night I finally got tired of passing on good shots that lose too much in the smaller version. I thought I’d try keeping the same width but allowing the widescreen and seeing how it affected the general look of the site. What are people’s thoughts on the smaller height? Does it disrupt the flow of the site too much or is it ok?
I added some extra padding underneath the images to balance that squished feeling from the differences in height. That seems to help the balanced issue a bit.

Interesting, the preview images aren’t cropped anymore if they’re widescreen, eh?
:)
Schnazzy picture, btw.

I like it a lot, keep it!
Looks fine to me.
I prefer it actually.

It might have cut out the fin or spartan if it were cropped. Nice shot!
