I think Halo 2 had the hardest Hunter encounters. You rarely had any heavy weapons to take them down with, so the next best thing is the Sniper. Kills in 2 shots, but you need to be very accurate (which is hard, since the Hunters almost constantly move). Halo 3’s Hunters all had heavy weapons readily available to smack them around with.

Yes, but thoe encounters were almost invariably harder. Heck, the hunters in H:CE were a piece of cake!
