Its a one frame deal. Most of the effects in Halo 3 have a very big initial effect, but it lasts just one or 2 frames. Getting 5 shots to all hit at the same time must have been very hard/lucky.
The extra blood came from another player who was killed the same time I was. So when I went into theater mode, I moved the camera all the way back to where the other player was shot, zoomed the camera in at the blood from the other player towards the direction of the blood coming out of me. So with the combination of my blood and the other player’s blood zoomed in (which made it appear plentiful), all I had to do was adjust the angle so the combined blood looked as if it was coming out of me.
