I love that both warthogs, as well as the explosion, and the position of their drivers bodies seem to be mirrored as well.

Mirroring makes sense. There’s probably one set explosion pattern for when a warthog is destroyed by ramming. So if both warthogs are weak enough and ram-kill each other…
