If you look in his screenshot gallery, you can see he is currently doing a lot of images with this effect. Maybe looking at different ones will help you figure out how he is doing it.
I think what he does is just have a person with 2 of the same helmet son and one with invis. Now if this was taken in campaign, I have yet to see a marine invisible, so nice find. But if it not how I think, then I would like to know.

That’s an effect I haven’t noticed before. I didn’t even get the title when I first glanced at it. Now that I see it, it’s very cool.
The more I think about this, the more I wish I could pan the camera around at this moment and see what happens as the angle changes.
